At that time, Japan was immediately after the high economic growth period, and the audio boom was absorbed from the first half of the 1970's, though the component stereo of about "200,000 yen"(*) began to sell, in the person who had bought the stereo, there seems to have been a person who had only this one piece in the record, too. (*The exchange rate in 1976 started at 306.50 yen per dollar. 【Pick Up】"Godiego(ゴダイゴ) / Gandhara(ガンダーラ)" (Godiego / Gandhara ゴダイゴ ガンダーラ Saiyuki 西遊記) This tune used as the ending theme song of TV program "Saiyuki(西遊記)" too became a big hit sold 1.60 million pieces in Japan in 1978. Godiego of Japanese Band sang a Japanese song for the first time in this tune though they were singing only an English song till then. There is an English version in this tune, too. "Saiyuki(西遊記)" was telecasted by BBC in England as the title of "Monkey". この曲はTV番組「西遊記」のエンディングテーマ曲としても使用され、1978年に160万枚のセールスを記録した大ヒット曲である。日本のバンドのゴダイゴはそれまで英語の歌だけを歌っていたが、この曲ではじめて日本語の歌を歌った。この曲には英語バージョンもある。「西遊記」は「Monkey」というタイトルでイギリスBBCでも放映された。
